Though counterintuitive, the term "break a leg" was never meant with ill intent. This beloved theatrical tradition emerged in early 20th-century American vaudeville theater (cue the jazz hands 👐) from actors' belief that wishing someone good luck would actually bring bad luck. So they would instead bid each other misfortune in a clever bit of reverse psychology. With that tradition in mind, we hope you hate this Bulletin!
