Ever lose your swimming goggles in the water? You're continuing a tradition that dates back centuries. The earliest recorded use of underwater eyewear traces to 14th-century Persia, where pearl divers crafted goggles from polished tortoise shells. While these ancient prototypes served the same purpose as today's goggles, replacing a pair made from rare tortoise shell would certainly be more challenging than picking up a pair of ones at the local sporting goods store.

AN ITALIAN KIOSK

"Have you ever been to Bergamo?" the email opened. We hadn't, but our new friend Silvia—a longtime member of the AWA Community—certainly had. She wanted to create an AWA Kiosk in the heart of the city, and we did what we always do: said "Yes! How do we make this happen?"
