This week: Wes signed books 📚 and gifts that don't suck 🎁

Bartenders have been serving up suds for centuries, but one book changed the game entirely. “The Bon Vivant’s Companion” was published in 1862 by Jerry Thomas who took a novel approach to the cocktail craft by ... writing down the recipes. Up until that point, they had been passed down only by word of mouth. Aptly known as the "Father of Mixology", word on the street has it that Thomas made a mean Blue Blazer.

GIVING BACK

Looking for a different type of gift this year? Give the gift of giving back. Here are a few of our friends we’re giving back to this year: the Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, who provide nurses for seriously ill children, the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, where you can adopt a penguin, and the Boston Preservation Alliance, where you can take part in preserving history.

In Case You Missed It

We’ve crafted a curious collection of cocktail chronicles for you to sip on with our friends at Hendrick’s. From swinging through Scotland, stopping at a surprising bar in Tokyo and making sure the history of bitters is downloaded into our brains.
