In 1992, Mannon Réaume became the first woman to ever play in a North American pro sports league, suiting up as goaltender for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Réaume continues to trailblaze paths for women today, scouting for the Los Angeles Kings with no signs of hanging up those skates soon. #GOALS 🏒

Though no one denied the beauty of Stevens High when it opened its doors in 1905, the lavish handiwork of the all-girls school was called into question. It was the most extravagant and expensive high school – hence the controversy – built between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The question, at the turn of the century, seemed to be: Do women deserve an education on-par, if not more excellent, than that of men?

What’s a palace with no throne room? Just another estate of course. So when the first Marquis of Comillas ordered the construction of his new summer home, he insisted that it have all the grand elements of a palace. Painted murals, stained glass, decadent balconies, ornamental staircases, a luscious library, velvety billiards room and of course, a Throne Room. You never know when duty will call.
