While a typical Happy Meal at McDonald’s comes with fries, there was once a wild substitute in the works: bubble-gum flavored broccoli. Yes, really. In a bold attempt to steer kids toward healthier choices, the fast-food giant cooked up a candy-coated produce in its culinary labs. Spoiler alert—it didn’t stick the landing, and frankly it’s a concept we’d rather not chew on.
