Artificial trees today are made from plastic, but the first ones? A bird of a very different color. Back in 1880s the first artificial Christmas trees were introduced to households in Germany, when deforestation became a serious concern. The solution? Goose feathers. Goose was a common holiday dish, which meant feathers were plentiful - and with a little green dye, Germans were more than happy to branch out and bring Christmas to life🪿

10 MILLION

What do you prefer? Something pre-lit, pencil-thin, or towering to the ceiling designed to last for years - or a slightly lopsided classic, complete with that natural scent, sticky sap, and maybe a squirrel or two? Let us know below!
