This week: a new Olympic sport 🎿

Cross-Country Skiers 📍 Sognsvann Lake, Norway 📸 Chris Dovletoglou

Watch your step! A new sport has entered the Olympic Games chat. Ski Mountaineering will be making its debut in the 2026 Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy. Participants will first climb stairs in their boots before racing down the slopes to the finish line in what promises to be a fast-paced event. Thankfully, we are not participating, as it would then be promised as a slow-paced, spill-event.

In Case You Missed It

Can you believe we’re already almost through the first month of the new year? Neither can we. As excited as we are for the adventures 2026 may bring, somehow last year still feels like the current one. Any recommendations on where we should go next? To help, we’ve pulled together a few of our favorite trip stories from last year… it was last year, right?

With roughly 1.4 billion chicken wings devoured and 11.2 million pounds of potato chips munched, the “big game” has become the second-largest food day in the U.S. The result? About 1.5 million Americans call out “sick” the next morning.
